The Great Migration Safari

Arusha, Manyara National Park, Ngorongoro Crater,
Olduvai Gorge, The Ngaroi, Serengeti National Park
12 Days

Day 01: Ngurdoto Lodge
After your arrival in Kilimanjaro airport, you will be met by your Wildlife Explorer vehicle and your personal driver-guide, and transferred to your lodge. Ngurdoto is one of Arushas finest lodges catering for small exclusive numbers. The lodge commands outstanding views towards Ngurdoto Crater in Arusha National Park.
Light dinner.

Day 02: Ngorongoro Serena Lodge
After breakfast, you will depart for Manyara National Park for your first game drive. Nestled at the base of the Great Rift Valley escarpment, Lake Manyara is one of the most beautiful places in Africa. As you enter the gate, the Park is dramatically marked off by lush green vegetation consisting of tall trees of the ground water forest, which provide home to troops of baboons and blue monkeys. Further down, the forest opens up into woodland, grassland, swamps and beyond, the soda lake itself where over 350 species of birds, including the lively flamingo, pelican, sacred ibis, grebe and stork can be viewed (a bird watchers' paradise). At the southern end of the Park are hot sulphur springs called MajiMoto. In the afternoon, you will proceed towards Ngorongoro Serena Lodge. We climb steadily through the Ngorongoro Highlands before reaching the rim of Ngorongoro Crater. A brief stop will be made at the viewpoint so that we may admire the vista of the crater some two thousand feet below. Ngorongoro Serena Lodge is well camouflaged and has been built into the rim of the Crater keeping to a minimum any intrusion into the surrounding countryside. From each of the 75 rooms, the view into the Crater is stunning. Dinner at the lodge.

Day 03: Ngorongoro Serena Lodge
Standing at 2236m above sea level, Ngorongoro is the largest unbroken caldera in the world and is surrounded by very steep walls rising 610m from the floor. Covering an area of 259 sq.kms, it is considered to be one of the Wonders of the Natural World and is a veritable haven for wildlife. Leaving early in the morning and taking a picnic lunch with you, you will spend the day game driving on the floor of the crater.
Dinner at the lodge.

Day 04: The Ngaroi
Nestling against the western borders of the Serengeti National Park, The Ngaroi is a vast forgotten wilderness where game responds as if man has never before encroached on this wondrous land.

Freedom is the key word of The Ngaroi, freedom to explore on foot the treasures laid out throughout the open plains, ridge systems, kopjes and riverine forests, freedom to safari at night wandering in search of nocturnal creatures hidden from view during the daylight hours and freedom to enjoy undisturbed the closing light of day perched high as the sun sets.

The camp is set amongst the copious kopjes, islands of life on the edge of the Serengeti Plains where The Great Migratory Herds thunder past in search of lush green grasses to feed and give birth on.

Following the hundreds and thousands of wildebeest and zebra come the predators creating a symphony of life unrivalled anywhere else on earth.

We make each day a different experience from the last with guided bush walks stalking the game of The Ngaroi along rivers and ridges as if we ourselves were floating predators high on the food chain.

Professional Walking Guides, armed and experienced in the art of tracking accompany all of our walks in this stunning wilderness.

Drives in completely open vehicles allow incredible exploration circumnavigating the migratory herds and searching out new spectacles as they unfold. The Ngaroi isn't for the masses; it's for the purists, the small number of guests that truly wish to experience Africa at her best.

Day 05 & 06 & 07: The Ngaroi
Exploring The Ngaroi by foot and by vehicle by day and night.

Day 08: Serengeti Luxury Private Camp
Today you will leave with picnics for the drive through Serengeti National Park and towards your camp, with a picnic and a game drive on the way. Your Private Campsite will have been chosen according to the movement of the game.
Dinner in Camp.

Day 09 & 10: Serengeti Luxury Private Camp
Two days will be spent exploring the nearby areas of the Serengeti ecosystem, following conditions and the movement of game. The Serengeti is where thousands of wildebeest, gazelle, topi, buffalo and zebra draw predators such as lions, cheetahs, leopards, making it the world's most exciting wildlife environment.
Dinner in camp.
